Today our colleague Paolo is attending a conference at the “G. D’Annunzio” University in Chieti, on the geology of the Gargano promontory as an analogue for the exploration of hydrocarbons.

The Gargano promontory, in Puglia Region on the south eastern part of Italy, represents a very interesting area, which shows depositional facies deposited in typical carbonate platform margin/slope/basin depositional settings. It represents a key analogue in the understanding of the exploration challenges in these type of depositional environments.
