A great weather has welcomed us in Maiella today for the first day field seminar! In the morning we’ll focus on the facies distribution and structural features of the carbonate ramp domain, generating a stratigraphic log and observing how the characteristics of bed thickness, porosity, fracture density and textures do vary along the section. In the afternoon, we’ll have a closer look to the facies types of the platform domain with an exercise on the faults timing. Maiella is the perfect analogue for the assessment of the geometries in a carbonate platform to basin transition setting. Let’s get the field seminar started!
