Thrust-related folds represent the most prevalent hydrocarbon traps in both subaerial and submarine fold-and-thrust belts. Understanding their along-strike variations in curved thrust systems is fundamental and key insights can come from nicely exposed orogens.

Have a look to the poster “Along-strike variations in curved thrust belts: examples from the central-northern Apennines of Italy” that will be displayed next week at the 2016 GSA Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado.

This contribution to the GSA (doi: 10.1130/abs/2016AM-284617) is part of Paolo’s PhD work realised in collaboration with Prof. F. Calamita (University of Chieti) and Prof. E. Tavarnelli (University of Siena).
