RESERVOIR CHARACTERISATION

Clastic Reservoirs

Clastic depositional environments are particularly complex geological systems. The expected reserve recovery can be influenced by a number of factors, including:

  • Depositional processes and deposits;
  • Scales of sedimentary discontinuities in clastic bodies;
  • Geological features influencing hydrocarbon recovery;
  • Depositional architecture;
  • Compaction & diagenesis;
  • Tectonics.

An accurate prediction of reservoir quality in clastic systems is a key challenge for hydrocarbon exploration and development. In this perspective, we have acquired a remarkable expertise in building geologic models in different settings, developing a conceptual approach that allow to invert the hypothesized conceptual model into realistic  flow models of clastic reservoirs.
